Game Day at Snowblind Studios

When you’re hard at work making games, it often pays to take a break and remind ourselves why we’re all here making games to begin with. Every now and then, all work pauses at Snowblind Studios and we all spend a day playing games! Annie, our illustrious paparazzi, caught some of the Game Day activity on camera for us to share.

Awesome! I love board games, got into them a few years ago and I've been hopelessly addicted ever since. What's the game in that last photo? I don't recognize it.

If any Snowblinders or fellow forum members want to try out some play-by-web board games, I'm always up for it :) There are a few great sites for playing online.

I can recommend a board-game to do with King Arthur and Camelot. Can't remember the name, but it is different in that it's a coop game. Every plays together to beat the board, rather than crush each other.

I really enjoyed Pokemon when i was into that some years back. Yu-Gi-Oh and Magic didn't grab me at all.

I also designed a fair few games, board and card games, and built a board game with a friend, called "the Dragon of East Grundly". You had to buy land and build to generate revenue to buy items to take on the dragon. Had a lot of humour but needed some serious tweaking - typical game time was many hours. One game took 2 days to finish! My friend also built his own "Super Monopoly" which the new improved Monopoly has striking similarites with, though of course he could never have got it developed on his own.

That's Shadows Over Camelot. Lots of fun, although it has pretty much been replaced by Battlestar Galactica for me, especially since I'm a fan of the series. Shadows is better with those that aren't as familiar with board games, though.
